Beef Taco Meat Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups diced onion (2 yellow onions)
  • Six cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 4 tbsp chili powder
  • 2/3 cup tomato paste
  • 2/3 cup beef stock

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, and salt. Sauté for 4 minutes until the onion begins to soften.
  2. Add the ground beef and use a wooden spoon to break it up into smaller pieces. Cook for about 6 minutes until the beef has browned and is no longer pink.
  3. Stir in the cumin, paprika, oregano, coriander, chili powder, tomato paste, and beef stock. Let the meat simmer for 10-12 minutes until all the liquid has evaporated. Use a potato masher to break the meat into a crumbly texture. Taste the meat and add more chili powder, salt, or cumin if needed. Serve warm.
